An incandescent lamp (1) connected to a socket (11) has a glass tube (2) having sealed ends (5) on opposite side. A substantially U-shaped lead (4a) connected to a filament (3) inside the glass tube (2) is projected through each of the sealed ends (5). The socket (11) has a body (12) that includes a base (21) and a pair of socket members (22) that protrude from both ends of the base (21). Each socket member includes an end-receiving groove (27a) and a lead-receiving groove (27b) for receiving the sealed end (5) and the lead (4a) respectively. Each socket member further includes a terminal (13) with a pair of power supply contacts (34) protruding in the lead-receiving groove (27b). When the incandescent lamp (1) is connected, the sealed ends (5) of the lamp (1) are fitted into the end-grooves (27a). This easily positions the leads (4a) so that they can be engaged with the contacts (34) in the lead-receiving grooves (27b).

Une lampe à incandescence (1) reliée à une douille (11) comporte un tube en verre (2) à extrémités hermétiquement closes (5) au niveau de côtés opposés. Un conducteur (4a), qui a sensiblement la forme d'un U et est relié à un filament (3) se trouvant à l'intérieur du tube en verre (2), traverse chacune des deux extrémités hermétiquement closes (5). La douille (11) présente un corps (12) comportant une base (21) et une paire d'éléments de douille (22) qui font saillie par rapport aux deux extrémités de la base (21). Chacun des éléments de douille comporte une rainure (27a) conçue pour loger une extrémité hermétiquement fermée (5) de la lampe et une rainure (27b) conçue pour loger le conducteur (4a). Chaque élément de douille comporte en outre une borne (13) dotée d'une paire de contacts électriques (34) faisant saillie à l'intérieur de la rainure (27a) conçue pour loger le conducteur. Lorsque la lampe à incandescence (1) est connectée, ses extrémités hermétiquement closes (5) sont insérées dans les rainures (27a) conçues à cet effet. Ceci facilite le positionnement des conducteurs (4a) qui peuvent ainsi entrer en contact avec les contacts électriques (34) à l'intérieur des rainures (27b) conçues à cet effet.
