SOD PEAT MACHINE ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A sod peat machine adapted to use moor peat as raw material includes a frame, an excavator disk mounted on the frame for lifting peat from the peat field, a press mounted on the frame and means for transmitting power to the excavator disk and press. The press includes a conveyor screw which operates within a nozzle housing provided with nozzle apertures. In order to prevent solid material contained in the peat, such as parts of logs, tree roots and the like, from obstructing the nozzle apertures and consequently inter- rupting the operation of the machine, according to the invention, a return pipe is provided in association with the nozzle housing through which the peat mass will flow to by-pass the zone in which the nozzle apertures are formed so that a recirculation of the peat mass is obtained to promote the grinding of any solid particles thereby reducing the possibility of the nozzle apertures from be- coming obstructed.
