The machine serves to form an elongated strip of sod into a roll. Two conveyor belts form the lower wall and end wall of a carriage. At the side of the carriage there are spaced side walls. A strip of sod is deposited on the forward end of the belt and is conveyed to the rear where it contacts and is carried upwardly by the second belt. During this time the sod is in contact with the side walls and is confined within the carriage. The two belts cause the sod to wrap itself around a tube to form a roll. When the roll reaches the desired size the sod at the end of the roll is cut. The two belts are then tilted to the rear so that the roll of sod thus formed discharges from the carriage.

L'invention porte sur une machine qui sert à former des rouleaux de bandes allongées de gazon de placage. Deux transporteurs à courroie forment la paroi inférieure et la paroi de fond d'un véhicule. Des parois latérales distancées se trouvent sur les côtés du véhicule. Une bande de gazon de placage est déposée sur l'extrémité avant de la courroie et est transportée à l'arrière, où elle entre en contact avec la seconde courroie qui la transporte vers le haut.
