BASF AKTIENGESELLSCHAFT O.Z.0050/41957 Abstract of the disclosure: A stabilized alkalized dithionite preparation which contains water and has a sodium dithionite content of from 60 to 70 % w/w and a water content of from 15 to 30 % w/w, the total content of these two components not exceeding 90 % w/w, contains a sodium and/or potassium salt dissolved in water and inert to sodium dithionite, its solubility in water being at least 500 9/1 at 20°C. The concentration of the dissolved salt should be at least 200 9/1. The said preparation contains, as stabilizer, zinc, a zinc compound, butylene oxide, and/or ascorbic acid.
