Ils sont obtenus selon un procédé qui comporte une étape de granulation et une étape de maturation. Les granulés sont particulièrement bien adaptés à leur mise en oeuvre dans les compositions détergentes pour lave-vaisselle. Les granulés de métasilicate de sodium constitués de métasilicate de sodium anhydre et de métasilicate de sodium pentahydraté sont caractérisés par le fait qu'ils sont composés d'un coeur central de métasilicate de sodium anhydre entouré d'une couche périphérique de métasilicate de sodium pentahydraté et que la quantité d'eau contenue dans le métasilicate de sodium pentahydraté représente au moins 10% du poids du produit fini.
