A vent device for mounting in a soffit area under the extension of a roof beyond a side wall of a structure so that air is discharged through an opening in a generally horizontally lower surface of the soffit. The vent device has a first generally vertical section connected to the outlet and a second section which extends from the first vertical section through an upper portion of the soffit area at an oblique angle. The second section has an inlet in the interior of the structure which is connected to flexible or rigid hose or pipe carrying air to be exhausted.
