A composite fabric is provided that contains staple fibers hydraulically entangled with a nonwoven web formed from continuous filaments. A portion of the staple fibers is entangled with the web, while another portion protrudes through the web. The resulting surface topography has one surface with a preponderance of the smooth, staple fibers, and another surface with a preponderance of the continuous filaments from the nonwoven web, but also including some of the protruded smooth, staple fibers. Thus, each surface contains smooth staple fibers and is soft.

L'invention concerne un tissu composite qui contient des fibres discontinues imbriquées en mode hydraulique avec une bande non tissée constituée de filaments continus. On imbrique une partie des fibres discontinues avec la bande, et une autre partie est protubérante à travers la bande. La topographie de surface résultante comporte une surface à prépondérance de fibres lisses discontinues, et une autre surface à prépondérance de filaments continus depuis la bande non tissée, mais comprenant aussi certaines des fibres lisses discontinues protubérantes. Ainsi, chaque surface contient des fibres lisses discontinues et est de consistance molle.
