ABSTRACT Soft contact-optical objects The invention provides soft contact-optical mouldings, in particular contact lenses and hard lenses, from cross-linking, hydrophilic copolymers of olefinic unsaturated compounds, which contain N-alkyl-, N-vinyl carboxylic acid amides as hydrophilic monomer component in addition to the monomers known per se from contact optics. The mouldings according to the invention have a lower water absorption capacity than conventional soft lenses, better compatibility over long periods of wear and show no tendency towards the migration of low molecular weight constituents.
