Disclosed is a composition for softening an absorbent tissue and tissue structures softened using the composition. The composition includes an effective amount of a softening active ingredient; a vehicle in which the softening active ingredient is dispersed; and an electrolyte dissolved in the vehicle. The electrolyte causes the viscosity of the composition to be less than the viscosity of a dispersion of the softening active ingredient in the vehicle alone. Preferably, the softening active ingredient is a quaternary ammonium compound with the formula: (R1)4-m - N+ - [(CH2)n - Y - R3]m X-, the vehicle is water, and the electrolyte is calcium chloride.
L'invention se rapporte à une composition pour adoucir le papier absorbant et à des structures de papier adoucies au moyen de cette composition. La composition comprend une quantité efficace d'un composant actif adoucissant, un véhiculant dans lequel est dispersé le composant actif adoucissant et un électrolyte dissous dans le véhiculant. Sous l'effet de l'électrolyte, la viscosité de la composition est inférieure à celle de la dispersion du composant actif adoucissant dans le véhiculant pris séparément. De préférence, le composant actif adoucissant est un composant à base d'ammoniac quaternaire qui correspond à la formule suivante: (R¿1?)¿4-m? - N?+¿ - [(CH¿2?)¿n? - Y - R¿3?]¿m? X?-¿, le véhiculant étant constitué d'eau, et l'électrolyte de chlorure de calcium.
