A softening lotion composition for treating an absorbent paper product is disclosed. The composition is aqueous and liquid at a temperature of at least 5 DEG C, and includes, as the active material, (a) one or more saturated straight fatty alcohols having at least 16 carbon atoms, and (b) one or more waxy esters having a total of at least 24 carbon atoms. Said composition is useful in the manufacture of absorbent paper products such as disposable paper tissues.

L'invention concerne notamment une composition pour une lotion adoucissante destinée au traitement d'un produit papetier absorbant. Selon l'invention, la composition de la lotion est aqueuse, liquide à une température d'au moins 5 °C et comprend comme matière active: a) un ou plusieurs alcools gras linéaires, saturés, ayant au moins 16 atomes de carbone, et b) un ou plusieurs esters cireux, ayant au total au moins 24 atomes de carbone. L'invention trouve application dans la fabrication des produits papetiers absorbants tels que des mouchoirs en papier jetables.
