- 1 - Soil Conditioners and Fertilizers from Spent Sulfite Liquor Abstract of the Disclosure Spent sulfite liquor is converted into a nitrogen containing water insoluble product useful as a soil condi- tioner and fertilizer. The spent sulfite liquor is heated at a temperature of 170 to 260°C to form a partially pyrolyzed water insoluble material and the water insoluble material is then reacted with ammonia at a temperature of 170 to 260°C. - 1 -
