The invention concerns a levelling device (10) for an impact roller of the type having at least one out-of-round compactor mass which, when caused to traverse a soil surface, applies periodic compacting blows to that surface. The levelling device of the invention is coupled to the impact roller so as to trail behind the impact roller. It includes a support frame (36) and, for each compactor mass of the impact roller, a ground-engaging levelling blade (52) fast with the support frame. The levelling blade is arranged to cut soil which has been traversed by the compactor mass and thereby to perform a soil levelling action. A ground-engaging shoe (58), one for each levelling blade, is connected to the support frame for pivotal movement about an axis transverse to the direction of movement of the impact roller. The shoe serves to control the depth of cut achieved by the levelling blade.

Cette invention concerne un dispositif de nivellement (10) destiné à un rouleau compresseur à impact du type pourvu d'au moins une masse de compactage faussement ronde qui, lorsqu'on la fait tourner a la surface du sol, applique des coups de compactage périodiques sur ladite surface. Ce dispositif de nivellement est accouplé au rouleau compresseur à impact de manière à remorquer ledit rouleau compresseur. Il comporte un bâti de support (36) ainsi qu'une lame de nivellement (52) associée à chacune des masses de compactage du rouleau compresseur à impact, conçue pour pénétrer dans la terre et fixée au bâti de support. La lame de nivellement est conçue pour découper le sol qui a été travaillé par la masse de compactage et effectuer ainsi une action de nivellement du sol. A chacune des lames de nivellement est associé un sabot (58), conçu pour pénétrer dans la terre, qui est relié au bâti de support de manière à pouvoir tourner autour d'un axe transversal au sens de déplacement du rouleau compresseur à impact. Ledit sabot sert à réguler la profondeur de coupe effectuée par la lame de nivellement correspondante.
