SOIL OPENING POINT FOR SEED OR FERTILIZER PLACEMENT Abstract of the Disclosure A generally beak-shaped point is provided for being drawn forwardly through the ground by a farm implement. The point is designed to experience minimum wear and resistance and to provide improved soil penetration and seed preparation. The point includes a pair of upwardly and rearwardly extend- ing, smoothly convexly arcuate wings, a forwardmost, generally downturned tip at the convergence of an upper slicing edge and a lower creasing edge, and a lower groove-forming wedge section having a pair of concave faces diverging upwardly from the creasing edge.
