ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The specification describes a soil sample taking apparatus which automatically ejects the taken sample, and which is mountable on a vehicle such as a pickup truck with minimal, if any, modification to the vehicle, and permits the vehicle to be used for its usual purposes, while the apparatus is mounted on the vehicle. The invention also relates to a unique soil sample taking apparatus which can be mounted on a pickup truck without modifying the truck, and can be rapidly removed and remounted.
