A soil sampler (10) for taking soil samples at multiple locations around a vehicle is disclosed. The soil sampler (10) has a probe (82) for withdrawing soil samples from the ground. The probe (82) is suspended on a support structure or boom assembly (20) which can move the probe (82) to multiple withdrawal locations around a vehicle. The soil sampler (10) has a percussion- type vibrator (50) to aid in inserting the probe (82) into the ground. The vibrator assembly (50) operates automatically off a hydraulic line (144) used to lower the boom assembly (20), such that the vibrator (50) normally operates only when the probe (82) is encountering significant resistance to being pressed into the ground. The support structure (20) is raisable to allow an operator within the vehicle to collect multiple soil samples without leaving the vehicle.
L'invention concerne un appareil d'échantillonnage (10) du sol conçu pour prélever des échantillons de sol en des points multiples autour d'un véhicule. Ledit appareil d'échantillonnage (10) est doté d'une sonde (82) servant à extraire les échantillons du sol. La sonde (82) est suspendue à structure de support ou à un ensemble à flèche (20) qui déplace la sonde (82) dans différents points d'extraction autour du véhicule. L'appareil d'échantillonnage (10) comporte un vibreur à percussion (50) facilitant l'insertion de la sonde (82) dans le sol. L'ensemble vibreur (50) fonctionne automatiquement grâce à une ligne hydraulique (144) utilisée pour abaisser l'ensemble à flèche (20) de sorte que le vibreur (50) ne fonctionne normalement que lorsque la sonde (82) rencontre une résistance sensible lorsqu'elle s'enfonce dans le sol. La structure de support (20) peut être relevée de sorte que l'opérateur dans le véhicule puisse prélever les échantillons de sol sans sortir de ce dernier.
