An apparatus for collecting heat from a solar concentrator has an isothermal body defining an elongated cavity with a circular opening having a diameter equal to a diameter of a focus of the solar concentrator, the cavity having a reflective walls such that solar rays contacting the walls are substantially reflected. The circular opening is located at the focus of the solar concentrator and perpendicular to a principal axis of the solar concentrator, and the axis of the cavity is aligned with the principal axis of the solar concentrator. The heat generated in the isothermal body is absorbed by the heat sink. The length of the cavity is sufficient to absorb a desired proportion of the energy in the solar rays entering the cavity and is about 5 to 9 times the diameter of the opening of the cavity. Depending on material used, the isothermal body can be enclosed in a reducing atmosphere to maintain reflectivity of the cavity walls.
L~invention concerne un appareil de captage de chaleur émanant d~un concentrateur solaire, comprenant un corps isotherme définissant une cavité allongée dotée d~une ouverture circulaire dont le diamètre est égal au diamètre de la focalisation du concentrateur solaire, la cavité présentant des parois réfléchissantes telles que les rayons solaires entrant au contact des parois soient sensiblement réfléchis. L~ouverture circulaire est située au niveau du foyer du concentrateur solaire et est perpendiculaire à un axe principal du concentrateur solaire, et l~axe de la cavité est aligné sur l~axe principal du concentrateur solaire. La chaleur générée dans le corps isotherme est absorbée par un puits de chaleur. La cavité présente une longueur suffisamment grande pour assurer l~absorption d~une proportion requise de l~énergie contenue dans les rayons solaires pénétrant dans la cavité, cette longueur étant comprise entre environ 5 et 9 fois le diamètre de l~ouverte de la cavité. Selon le matériau utilisé, le corps isotherme peut être entouré d~une atmosphère réductrice dans le but de préserver la réflectivité des parois de la cavité.
