A solar energy collection structure having an articulating south roof comprising solar panels for collection of energy. Together with a north roof, the invention comprises a storage structure for storing items such as hay in an interior space that is shielded from precipitation by the north and south roofs. The pitch of the south roof may be varied by adjustment of variable height supports to track the elevation of the sun over the year. The south roof may be substantially covered by a solar panel array or be constructed of a building-integrated photovoltaic material. The solar panels may also employ multi-axis tracking.
