ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A solar heat collector assembly includes a cylindrical transparent tube having an end portion hermetically sealed by the use of a sealant and an evacuated interior and a heat- collecting pipe secured in the transparent tube with its end portion extending outside the transparent tube through the sealant. The sealant, preferably made from a transparent material, is bowl-shaped and the heat-collecting pipe passes through the sealant. The pipe and the sealant are bonded together by an adhesive metal material, e.g. 426 alloy. The outer periphery of the sealant is further bonded to the end portion of the trans- parent tube.
