SOLAR HEATING SYSTEM Abstract The specification describes a solar panel assembly which is mounted on the frame of a building. The assembly has both a heating mode and an insulating mode. It includes a plurality of individual reversably mounted solar panels, a means for supplying a fluid to the solar panels, a means for collecting the fluid flowing over the solar panels, and a transparent pane which permits solar radiation to enter the solar panel assembly. Each of the solar panels is provided with an insulated portion and a heat collecting and conductive surface which is outwardly exposed and over which fluid is adapted to flow when the system is in the heating mode. Each of the panels is reversable to the insulating mode, whereby the insulated portion assumes an outward exposure and the heat conductive surface an inward exposure. The panels are also preferably removable from the building frame as desired, in which case the transparent pane acts as a window.
