ABSTRACT A building is provided with a solar heating system both for heating the interior of the building and providing hot water for use in the building. A solar collector is mounted on the roof and an antifreeze solution is cir- culated through the solar collector, space heaters in various rooms and a heat exchanger in the hot water tank. Heat collected by the antifreeze solution in the solar collector is given up to the space heaters and to the hot water tank. Antifreeze solution is easier to heat than fresh water and is unlikely to freeze causing pipe breakages, a problem exhibited by previous systems.
