ABSTRACT A soldering iron for withdrawing by suction resin- containing soldering fumes includes a handle having an electric heating element provided with a soldering tip and a metal suction nozzle. One end of the nozzle lies in the proximity of the soldering tip and the other end of the nozzle is connected to one end of a flexible plastic suction hose inserted through a bore in the handle. The suction nozzle is in metallic, heat-transfer contact with the metal casing of the heating element and is thereby maintained at a temperature such that resins present in the soldering fumes do not precipitate in the nozzle but instead condense and solidify in the end part of the suction hose, which can be easily removed and cleaned.
