SOLID CATALYST COMPONENT FOR OLEFIN POLYMERIZATION Abstract of the Disclosure The transition metal component of a Ziegler-Natta cata- lyst is composed of a titanium halide deposited on a magne- sium halide support. The support is prepared by a process involving reaction of a dialkyl magnesium with an alkyl aluminum halide in a hydrocarbon solvent and including treat- ment of the magnesium halide formed in the reaction with an electron donor, preferably a dialkyl ether.
