The invention relates to a solid dosage form for the ocular administration of an active principle comprising at least one biocompatible, water-soluble excipient for ophthalmic use. The inventive form is obtained using a method which is selected from among the following: direct compression, dry compression, wet compression, compression of a lyophilizate, said compression being carried out a temperature below 45 ·C, or lyophilisation, such that the form can disintegrate and release the active principle in the conjunctival sac. The invention also relates to an ophthalmic insert comprising the aforementioned dosage form which is appropriately dimensioned for ocular administration.

Forme galénique solide pour l'administration oculaire d'un principe actif, comportant au moins un excipient hydrosoluble et biocompatible à un usage ophtalmique et obtenue par un procédé choisi parmi la compression directe, la compression par voie sèche, la compression par voie humide, la compression d'un hydrolisat, la compression étant opérée à une température inférieure à 45~C, la lyophilisation, de telle sorte qu'elle puisse se déliter et libérer le principe actif dans le cul-de-sac conjonctival et insert ophtalmique constitué par la forme galénique ci-dessus ayant des dimensions appropriées pour une administration oculaire.
