Cet électrolyte est constitué par un matériau macromoléculaire formé par des polymères ou oligomères réticulés comportant des hétéroatomes dans le motif monomère ou dans des chaînes latérales ainsi que des fonctions réticulables, chargés d'un ou plusieurs sels ionisables et présentant une température de transition vitreuse parmi basse que possible. Les hétéroatomes sont choisis parmi l'azote, l'oxygène le soufre et le phosphore et le rapport du nombre de carbones au nombre d'hétéro- atomes est compris entre 1 et 12.
