The present invention is comprised of a rigid heat resistant flat plate with raised edges, and four rigid heat resistant supporting members which is adapted for a pocket size barbecue or for larger barbecues and supports fuel used for the operation of a barbecue. The purpose of the solid fuel holder is to reduce the transfer of heat from the burning fuel to the outside walls of the barbecue. The design of the solid fuel holder allows campers to remove the solid fuel holder from the barbecue while the fuel is still hot.
