A matrix for containing drugs for transdermal delivery systems is disclosed. The matrix, formed of a skin-adhesive acrylate copolymer, attains high rates of drug delivery without the addition of drug delivery rate enhancers. In preferred embodiments the matrix is used to administer steroids, in particular estradiol. Water-soluble polymers may be added as well.

La présente invention décrit une matrice destinée à contenir des substances médicamenteuses qui doivent être administrées par voie transdermique. Cette matrice à base de copolymère acrylate adhérant à la peau, permet d'obtenir un débit élevé d'administration médicamenteuse sans avoir recours à des stimulateurs supplémentaires. Dans les versions préférées, cette matrice est utilisée pour l'administration de stéroïdes notamment d'estradiol. On peut aussi y ajouter des polymères solubles à l'eau.
