A solid polyelectrolyte membrane is obtained by grafting a dense fluororesin membrane having a thickness of 10 to 50µm with a polymerizable monomer by irradiation with an electron beam accelerated in vacuum at an acceleration voltage of 60 to 300kV through an electron permeable window in an inert gas atmosphere in an absorbed dose of the membrane of 1 to 50kGy. A fuel cell is produced by setting the solid polyelectrolyte membrane between a fuel electrode and an air electrode.

La présente invention concerne une membrane polyélectrolytique solide obtenue en greffant une membrane de résine fluorée dense ayant une épaisseur de 10 à 50 µm avec un monomère polymérisable par irradiation avec un faisceau électronique accéléré sous vide à une tension d'accélération de 60 à 300 kV à travers une fenêtre perméable aux électrons dans une atmosphère de gaz inerte dans une dose absorbée de la membrane de 1 à 50 kGy. Une pile à combustible est fabriquée en plaçant la membrane polyélectrolytique solide entre une électrode à combustible et une électrode à air.
