A flocculant, viscosifier or other water soluble or water swellable particulate polymer is formulated as a block having a dimension of at least 10mm and which comprises a wax matrix in which the polymer particles are dispersed. The block can be made by blending polymer powder with the molten wax matrix and cooling and solidifying it. The block is of particular value for releasing flocculant into a flowing stream of suspension.

Cette invention se rapporte à un floculant, à un agent améliorant la viscosité ou à tout autre polymère particulaire soluble dans l'eau ou gonflant dans l'eau, qui est formulé sous la forme d'un bloc ayant une dimension d'au moins 10 mm et contenant une matrice de cire dans laquelle sont dispersées les particules polymères. On peut produire ce bloc en mélangeant de la poudre polymère avec la matrice de cire fondue et en refroidissant et en solidifiant le mélange ainsi obtenu. Ledit bloc est particulièrement utile pour libérer un agent floculant dans une suspension en écoulement.
