ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention relate to a solid support able to adsorb lipoproteins. This support is constituted by crosslinked polyvinyl alcohol hdrogel, whereof at least part of the -OH groups have been replaced by -OSO3H groups. The crosslinked polyvinyl alcohol hydrogel comprises 70 to 95% by weight of chains derived from polyvinyl alcohol and 5 to 30% by weight of chains derived from crosslinking monomers, such as triethylene glycol diacrylate and tetraethylene glycol triacrylate. These supports can be used for the ex-vivo purification of the blood plasma.
