57,173 ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An improved coil winding for the stator of an electrodynamic system such as an electrical generator includes a solid series crossover connector, which provides a external transposition between half-coils at the end areas of the stator. In the disclosed embodiments, the crossover connector includes first and second conductor elements, which are shaped to avoid contact with each other and to protrude as little as possible beyond the ends of the respective half-coils. The crossover connector requires less labor to install than the group series connectors that have been used in the past, and is more rugged and less susceptible to vibration than the group series connectors tended to be.
