3-16039/+ ABSTRACT Solid solutions of pyrrolo-[3,4-c]-pyrrols A solid solution of 1,4-diketopyrrolo-[3,4-c]-pyrrols consisting of two different compounds of the formulae Image Image and (I) (III), the formulae Image Image and (III) (IV), wherein A is one of the groups Image , Image , Image , Image a n d Image and B, C and D are each independently a group or Image Image where R1 and R2 are each independently hydrogen, halogen, C1-C5-alkyl, C1-C5-alkoxy, -SR3, -N(R3)2, -CF3, -CN, a group Image , Image o r Image R3 is C1-C5-alkyl and R4 and R5 are each independently hydrogen, halogen, C1-C5-alkyl, C1-C5-alkoxy, -SR3 or -CN having X-ray diffraction patterns which differ from the sum of the X-ray diffraction patterns of the individual components. Such solid solutions are excellently suited as pigments for the colouration of high molecular organic material.
