SOLID-STATE COLOR IMAGER AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME Abstract of the Disclosure The invention provides a solid-state imager having a set of color filters disposed on a semiconductor body including photosensitive regions. The color filter of a third color is formed by overlapping between filter members of a first color and a second color. One of the filter members which has a spectral transmittance capable of transmitting light used for exposure in forming the filter members is provided as a lower layer closer to the substrate of the semiconductor body. Thus, when the filter members are formed by the exposure process, a solid-state imager having good characteristics can be manufactured, because the lower filter member layer does not block light reflected from. the semiconductor body and permits the formation of uniform layer of the second color filter member, even in the parts where the first and second filter members overlap.
