ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Solid state color imaging apparatus for producing a color video signal representing an optical image of an object. In this apparatus, plural sets of lines of photosensitive elements are arranged repeatedly in a vertical scanning direc- tion, each of which photosensitive element lines consists of a plurality of photosnesitive elements distributed in a line in a horizontal scanning direction. Charge signals are read out from the sets of photosensitive element linen at a time in each horizontal scanning period and a set of output signals is processed to produce the color video signal.
