SOLID STATE COLOUR IMAGING DEVICE Abstract of the Disclosure The present invention relates to a solid-state colour imaging device. The imaging device comprises a photo- electric converter with a two dimensional structure having a plurality of photoelectric conversion elements for detecting light of a first colour, photoelectric conversion elements for detecting light of a second colour and photoelectric conversion elements for detecting light of a third colour. The elements are respectively arrayed cyclically in vertical and horizontal directions. A vertical switching unit is provided corresponding to the photoelectric conversion elements for selecting the elements in response to scanning pulses from vertical scanning circuits. Horizontal switching units are provided for the respective colours for turning "on" and "off" in response to scanning pulses from horizontal scanning circuits. A unit is provided for deriving photoelectric conversion output signals through the horizontal switch unit. A plurality of signal output lines are provided to which outputs of the vertical switch is connected to respective photoelectric conversion elements of the colours in the vertical switch direction.
