SOLID-STATE IMAGING DEVICE Abstract of the Disclosure A solid-state imaging device made up of photodiodes consists of an N-type semiconductor substrate, a P-type well region formed in the main surface of the semiconductor substrate, and an N-type region formed in the well region. Vertical switching insulated-gate, field effect transistors utilize the N-type region as either the source or the drain. The invention is characterized in that a video voltage is applied to the substrate, serving the purpose of improving the quality of the image by elimination or reduction of white spots and white and black lines.
