There is described a solid tire from rubber or similar with removable tread, which com- prises a substantially resilient tire strip comprised of two co-axial ring-shaped parts with different hardnesses and elasticity modulus and having a resi- lient elongation factor comprised between 1.03 and 1.08, an inner part comprising the bead for coopera- ting with the rim or wheel and having an elasticity modulus comprised between 7 N/mm2 (? 70° Sh) and 15 N/mm2 (? 95° Sh), a second part comprising the tire strip body having an elasticity modulus lower than the elasticity modulus of the bead and comprised between 3 N/mm2 (? 40° Sh) and 10 N/mm2 (? 80° Sh), the tread being comprised of a ring which is subs- tantially extensible in the radial and circumferential direction and having an inner diameter which is slightly larger than the outer diameter of the tire strip before being laid over a rim or wheel, and slightly smaller than the outer diameter of the tire strip as laid without the tread over a rim or wheel. A method for assembling and disassembling the tire is also described.
