The present invention is directed to methods for solubilizing boric acid to produce liquid, boron-containing solutions. In these methods, boric acid is added to a previously formed solution of a metal ion and ligand. The ligand must be capable of both complexing the metal ion and simultaneously coordinating or hydrogen bonding with the boric acid. Preferred metal ions are the transition metals. Preferred ligands are the alkanolamines, polyamines, dialkylaminoalkylamines and alkyldiaminecarboxylic acids and salts thereof. Using the methods of the present invention, stable, clear solutions, preferrably aqueous solutions, containing about 9-11 percent-by-weight or more boron are readily prepared.
La présente invention porte sur des méthodes de solubilisation de l'acide borique permettant de produire des solutions liquides contenant du bore. Dans ces méthodes, l'acide borique est ajouté à une solution préalablement préparée qui contient un ion métallique et un ligand pouvant à la fois complexer l'ion métallique et former simultanément une liaison de coordination ou une liaison hydrogène avec l'acide borique. Les ions métalliques préférés sont des ions de métaux de transition. Les ligands préférés sont les alcanolamines, les polyamines, les dialkylaminoalkylamines, ainsi que les acides alkyldiaminecarboxyliques et leurs sels. Les méthodes décrites dans la présente invention permettent de préparer facilement des solutions stables et limpides, de préférence des solutions aqueuses, contenant au moins de 9 à 11 % en poids de bore environ.
