The invention relates to an asymmetric integrally skinned membrane comprising a polyimide and another polymer selected from the group consisting of polyvinylpyrrolidone, polyetheretherketone, sulfonated polyetherether ketone, sulfonated polyphenyleneoxide, sulfonated polysulfone, sulfonated polyethersulfone, sulfonated polyphenylquinoxaline and mixtures thereof. Such a membrane is substantially insoluble in organic solvents. The membrane according to the invention is useful as a vapor separation membrane.
