The invention relates to an asymmetric integrally skinned membrane comprising a polyimide and another polymer selected from the group consisting of polyvinylpyrrolidone, sulfonated polyetheretherketones and mixtures thereof. The membrane which is substantially insoluble in an organic solvent and substantially defect-free is useful as a vapor separation membrane. Methods for preparing asymmetric integrally skinned polyimide membranes are also disclosed.

L'invention concerne une membrane asymétrique en peau intégrale résistant aux solvants, qui comprend un polyimide et un autre polymère sélectionné dans le groupe constitué par la polyvinylpyrrolidone, les polyétheréthercétones sulfonées et leurs mélanges. Cette membrane, qui est pratiquement insoluble dans un solvant organique et sensiblement exempte de défauts, est utile comme membrane de séparation de vapeur.
