Abstract of the Disclosure The novel tetradecapeptide Image is described along with corresponding non-toxic pharma- ceutically-acceptable acid addition salts as well as inter- mediates useful in the synthesis of the tetradecapeptide. This tetradecapeptide is prepared by reacting the cor- responding straight-chain tetradecapeptide with an oxidizing agent to convert the two sulfhydryl groups to a disulfide bridge. This tetradecapeptide as well as its pharmaceutical- ly-acceptable acid addition salts exhibit various activities including inhibition of the release of gastric acid and reduction of gut motility.
