A SOMATOTROPIN-BASED IMPROVED PROCESS FOR THE FARMING OF SALOMONIDS, PARTICULARLY IN SEAWATER ABRIDGEMENT The invention relates to a process for the aquaculture of salmonids which comprises a farming step of these salmonids in a fresh water farm and another farming step in plain sea water for a time long enough to enable them to grow to the size finally sought. It comprises giving a single administration of somatotropin in a form readily releasable in the blood circulation, e.g. an aqueous solution, of said farmed salmonids prior to their transfer from the fresh water farm into said plain sea water, in an amount sufficient to induce in their blood circulation a supraphysiological pulse of somatotropin effective to cause resumption of the growth of said salmonids to said size finally sought during said farming step in plain sea water.
