An assembly for a sonar array is taught which can be assembled with other such assemblies to make a large array such as, for example, a cylindrical array of the type frequently used for fish seeking. A sonar array is taught comprising a plurality of such assemblies attached together to form an array. In a preferred form, the array is formed of rows and columns oriented to form a cylinder, with the transducers facing outwards. In a particularly preferred form, the outside of the transducer array is protected by a spun plastic boot formed in place upon it. A spun plastic boot for protecting a sonar array, and a method of making such boot are also taught.
