From one aspect the invention is a method of classifying waste materials comprising arranging two sieve screens (13, 14), each having an inlet end and an outlet end, one above the other to define a space therebetween, arranging the upper screen (13), to be of coarser mesh size than the lower screen (14), supplying waste material to be classified to the inlet end (9) of the upper screen, vibrating the screens, and blowing air between the screens (13, 14) from the inlet end (9) and towards the outlet end (12) whereby the waste material is separated into a plurality of fractions with fine material passing downards through the lower screen (14) under gravity, light material being blown away from the outlet ends of the screens, and large heavy material falling under gravity from the outlet end of the upper screen (13), and separately collecting the separated waste material fractions. From another aspect the invention is an apparatus for carrying out the method described above.
Dans un aspect, l'invention concerne un procédé de tri de matières-déchets qui consiste à disposer deux toiles de criblage (13, 14) comportant chacune une entrée et une sortie l'une au-dessus de l'autre pour ménager un espace entre elles, les mailles de la toile supérieure (13) étant plus larges que celles de la toile inférieure (14). Le procédé consiste ensuite à présenter les matières-déchets à trier à l'entrée (9) de la toile supérieure (13), à faire vibrer les toiles et souffler de l'air entre les toiles (13, 14) de l'entrée (9) vers la sortie (12), ce qui permet de décomposer les matières-déchets en plusieurs fractions. Par ce procédé, les matières fines descendent à travers la toile inférieure (14) par effet de gravité, les matières légères soufflées sont dispersées par les sorties des toiles, et les matières lourdes tombent de la sortie de la toile supérieure (13) par effet de gravité. Le procédé consiste enfin à recueillir séparément les différentes fractions de matières-déchets. Dans un autre aspect, l'invention concerne un appareil permettant de réaliser ledit procédé.
