SOUND DAMPER FOR A RUNNING WHEEL ABSTRACT A body sound damper for a running wheel, in particular for a track wheel comprises wave guides juxtaposed in a circumferential direction and being in the form of horn-shaped parts. The wave guides form an annular plate of such a design that at least one side of each wave guide runs tangentially towards the inside diameter of the annular plate and that, if applicable, a part of the wave guides is divided into more segments of horn-shape part. For the attenuation of the axial vibrations of the running wheel, the wave guides are bent outwardly at their outer base surface parallel to the axial direction of the running wheel and positively connected to the wheel rim of the running wheel at the bent base surface.
