An interchangeable lens suitable for use in conjunction with a motion picture camera features a lens mount that can be removably attached to such a motion picture camera, a lens casing connecting to the lens mount, and an external casing that both houses the adjusting elements of the interchangeable lens and is connected through sound-absorbing rings to the lens casing. An object-side buffer ring and a camera-side buffer ring both centre and radially support, in its end zones, external casing upon lens casing.
