ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE For a sound inlet for microphones to prevent noises caused by intermittent sound-pressure variations, a wall that extends the microphone housing is provided in the area of the diaphragm face side, the wall having sound entrance channels whose openings on the outside lie closer to the micro- phone diaphragm than the inner openings, and a cavity, encased by the extended wall, is closed in front by the housing itself, by a cover, or by a cap-shaped or stopper-shaped seal. Since the cross-sections of the sound inlet channels are relatively large, contamination, which would lead to a blockage of the channels, is completely out of the question. Nor are there any parts that could be misplaced or damaged.
