A sound reproducing apparatus (10) includes a slot (16) to which a memory card (18) is attached. A decoding software for decoding sound data is stored in an audio file recorded on the memory card (18). The decoding software is loaded into a RAM (22b) by a CPU (20) when it is not possible to decode the sound data by the decoding software stored on a ROM (22a). Therefore, a DSP (22) decodes sound data read from the same audio file in accordance with the decoding software loaded from the audio file.

L'invention porte sur un lecteur audio (10) comportant une fente (16) d'introduction d'une carte mémoire (18) sur laquelle sont enregistrés un fichier audio et un logiciel de décodage des données audio. Ledit logiciel est chargé dans une RAM (22b) par une unité centrale si le logiciel présent dans une ROM (22a) ne réussit pas à décoder les données audio. Un circuit DSP (22) décode les signaux audio lus dans le fichier audio à l'aide d'un logiciel de décodage présent dans le même fichier audio.
