SOURCE SIGNATURE RECORDING (WPC-30) ABSTRACT An acoustic logging tool for use in a well bore wherein the transmitter pulse and the subsequent arriving receiver signal are processed through the same electrical channel. An electric switch disconnects the transmitter circuit and connects the receiver circuit whereby both the transmitter characteristic signal and the receiver characteristic signal may be detected for analysis purposes.
