The invention concerns a method for estimating a communication path formed by several channels. Said method requiring an estimation of the impulse response function (C¿1?, C¿2?, ..., C¿n?) of said channels comprises the following steps: acquiring a spatial statistic of said communication path; establishing a corrected impulse response function (C'¿1?, C'¿2?, ..., C'¿n?) at least by weighting the pulse response functions (C¿1?, C¿2,? ..., C¿n?) using the spatial statistic and an additive noise estimation (N¿01?, N¿02?, ..., N¿0n?) of these channels.

L'invention concerne un procédé de sondage d'une voie de transmission formée de plusieurs canaux. Ce procédé qui nécessite une estimation de la réponse impulsionnelle (C1, C2, ..., Cn) de ces canaux comprend les étapes suivantes: acquisition d'une statistique spatiale de cette voie de transmission, établissement d'une réponse impulsionnelle corrigée (C'1, C'2, ..., C'n) au moins par pondération des estimations de réponses impulsionnelles (C1, C2, ..., Cn) au moyen de la statistique spatiale et d'une estimation du bruit additif (N01, N02, ..., N0n) de ces canaux.
