The present invention provides to a method of administration of two or more therapeutically active agents comprising orally administering to a patient a spaced drug delivery system wherein the time of release of the two or more therapeutically active agents is designed to provide desired control on the disease condition. The present invention also provides a method of administration of two or more therapeutically active agents comprising orally administering to a patient a spaced drug delivery system at a specified time prior to food intake by the patient. The present invention further provides a spaced drug delivery system that releases two or more antidiabetic agents at different times after oral administration, for the treatment of diabetes mellitus or conditions associated with diabetes mellitus. More particularly, the present invention provides a spaced drug delivery system that immediately releases one or more antidiabetic agents after oral administration of the system, and releases as a pulse one or more antidiabetic agents in a reliable manner at about a predetermined time after oral administration of the system.
L'invention concerne une méthode d'administration d'au moins deux agents actifs au plan thérapeutique, qui consiste à administrer par voie orale à un patient un système de libération espacée de médicaments, le moment de libération desdits agents actifs au plan thérapeutique étant choisi pour qu'une maîtrise voulue de l'état pathologique soit assurée. L'invention porte également sur une méthode d'administration d'au moins deux agents actifs au plan thérapeutique, qui consiste à administrer par voie orale au patient un système de libération espacée de médicaments à un moment spécifié avant l'ingestion d'aliments par le patient. L'invention se rapporte encore à un système de libération espacée de médicaments qui libère au moins deux agents antidiabétiques à différents moment après l'administration par voie orale, pour le traitement du diabète sucré ou d'états associés au diabète sucré. Plus particulièrement, l'invention concerne un système de libération espacée qui libère immédiatement au moins un agent antidiabétique après l'administration par voie orale dudit système et libère en une pulsation, le ou les agents antidiabétiques, de manière fiable, à un moment prédéterminé après l'administration par voie orale dudit système.
